Winter Wellness Workshop

September 22 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
Elizabeth City, NC 27909 United States

Cold and flu season will be back around again before we know it. It's never too early to start thinking about the health of your family during the winter. Join me at my home for a Winter Wellness Workshop where we will explore several folk remedies that are great to have on hand. During this 3 hour workshop, we'll make: a batch of fire cider - a zesty, infused medicinal vinegar that is packed full of immune boosting, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral ingredients; a tasty jar of elderberry syrup rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C; and I'll share with you my super secret salve recipe that helps with chest and nasal congestion. There will also be a range of tasty foods for you to enjoy and nibble on. You'll leave with your own jar of fire cider, elderberry syrup, and congestion salve to start preparing your pantry for the colder months to come. Seats are limited. Tickets are non-refundable. If you have any questions or concerns about this workshop, please contact me. Note: address will be given out upon confirmation of ticket purchase.

Dark Side of the Full Moon Screening

November 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST
The Well Yoga Studio, 3105 N. Croatan Hwy, Unit 30
Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948 United States

This event is brought to our community by the Outer Banks Birth Network. Having a baby is supposed to be the happiest time of your life. But what if it’s not? Each year 1.3 million women in the U.S. struggle to find support and treatment for postpartum depression and other perinatal mood disorders. Two women, Maureen Fura and Jennifer Silliman, both with firsthand knowledge of this challenge, came together to give a face and a voice to the countless women who suffer in silence. One in seven women will experience a pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorder. This means that someone that you know and love has been or is dealing with this hidden epidemic. The screening will conclude with a discussion of the film and community resources. Suggested donation $8. Join the Outer Banks Birth Network on the second Thursday of every month at 7pm at The Well Yoga.
